SWEET is a social network that is built to be safe and friendly with children.
Target customers: Schools & Education organizations.
Target end-users: Children 10-15 yrs, Teachers and Parents.

The design process sticks to the 'Five Elements' framework: Strategy, Scope, Structure, Skeleton and Surface.

This project includes:
Mobile app prototype and teaser video;
Landing page coded in HTML/CSS/JS.

Children centric concept - the design philosophy of Sweet

After making survey with parents and summarizing some academic studies of psychology and sociology, we started ideating an online platform that is useful, playable but NOT easily addictive for children. In other words, this is the ultimate desire to balance between business and morality.

As being inspired by "The Social Dilemma" (a documentary film by Netflix, 2020), we care about children's mental health at the highest priority. That's why our product's concept consists of these 2 primary aspects: Interaction and Protection.

For Interaction, we suggest some possible solutions to enhance the usability for children, such as: main functions are located within thumb's reach, feedbacks are given on every action, and gamification through out the platform, etc.

For Protection, our approach is conducted via respecting the user's privacy, filtering out bad contents, and reducing the negative impact of social comparison.

In addition, main features of the product are all user-oriented. It means that those functions and interface are available differently among the user types (Children, Parent, Teacher and Admin). This ensures the safety, integrity and consistency all over Sweet, a platform for children's social networking and online learning.
